Religion

Every citizen in the DPRK enjoys full freedom of and right to religion. The Korean Federation of Buddhists, the Korean Federation of Christians and other religious groups are a proud part of political parties and public institutions:

During the Korean War, a huge number of temples, churches and sanctuaries in Pyongyang and the rest of the country were ruined. Thereafter, Kwangbop Temple in Pyongyang, Pyohun Temple at Mt. Kumgang, Pohyon Temple at Mt. Myohyang and other Buddhist temples were rehabilitated and new churches were built.
